Antifungal activity of the methanol extract of Clausena lansium

The activity of the methanol extract of Clausena lansium(Lour.) Skeels was assayed against 12 kinds of fungi using growth rate methods.The results showed that all methanol extracts displayed antifungal activities against Colletotrichum musae to some extent.The inhibition rate of the methanol extracts of the stone,cortex,leafstalk and scape of C.lansium against C.musae were 88.83%,84.61%,72.23% and 50.11% at 10 mg/mL,respectively.The EC50 of the methanol extract of the stone against C.musae is 4.34 mg/mL.The antifungal activities of petroleum ether,trichloromethane,ethyl acetate,n-butanol extracts against Rhizoctonia solani were also tested,and the results showed that the highest activity was seen in trichloromethane extract,with an inhibitory rate of 86.11%.The EC50 of trichloromethane extract was 2.37 mg/mL.
