Objective To explore the motor change of Roux Y jejunal limb in relation to Roux Y syndrome after total gastrectomy and Roux Y esophagojejunostomy. Methods Roux Y limb motility of 13 cases was measured with perfused manometry system. Results We found that nonpropagated MMCⅢ, oral MMCⅢ,disrupted MMCⅢ and bursts of nonpropagated waves increased, espacially in Roux Y syndrome patients ( P 0.01). Conclusions The close relationship existed between motile change after total gastrectomy .The incidence of Roux Y syndrome may be partially associated with abnormal motility of Roux Y limb.
