Estabishment of fingerprinting database and surveillance on marine products for Vibrio parahaemolyticus in Guangdong from 2003 to 2005

Objective:To establish fingerprinting database of Vibrio parahaemolyticus of marine products in Guangdong(GD),which will help to understand the distributim and the contaminated situation of VP.Methods:VITEK and MPN methods were adopted to identify and quantify.K-B method was used to perform microbial sensitivity.RiboPrinter microbial characterization system was employed to detect fingerprinting of VP.Results:A total of 156 of 431 samples were positive for VP isolation(36.19%).The positive rate in 2005 was significantly higher than that in 2003 and 2004.Especially,the sea foods contaminated with VP in Guangzhou achieved 50%.There was a significantly difference between each species.(χ2=14.26,P0.05).Fresh-water shrimp(highest) was 66.7%(20/30),sea fish(lowest) was 19.5%(17/87).Compared with each sorts by statistics showed difference(χ2=35.276,P0.05)and the means of VP density was 1 320 MPN/100 g.Shell was significantly different from other sorts(t=3.074,P0.05).Fourteen antibiotics used to test 60 VP strains for microbial sensitivity which indicated that all strains were susceptible to chloramphenicol and co-trimoxazole.Compared with drug resistant strains to ampicillin,amoxicillin,gentamicin,streptomycin and amikacin showed that 2004 were higher more than 2003(P0.05,χ2 was 4.93,5.17,7.86,4.86,17.71,respectively),but the alteration of drugs resistant spectrum couldn′t be seen.Sixty-eight VP strains detected by fingerprinting from sea food poisoning in GD from 2003 to 2004 were developed to the VP fingerprinting database.Conclusion:Surveillance results indicate the situations of VP contamination are serious in GD and would threaten the Public Health in China.There is still no relative hygiene criteria about row seafood and the VP limitation criterions in the marine products now.Therefore,drafting out the criterions and strengthening the surveillance measures are very important.
