Relationship between adolescent obesity and abnormal glucose metabolism

Objective To explore the relationship between adolescent obesity and abnormal glucose metabolism. Methods From April 2016 to March 2017,486 healthy juveniles admitted to our hospital were selected as subjects. We measured the height and weight,and divided the adolescents from underweight,normal weight,overweight and obesity according to different body mass index. To compare the differences of blood glucose level,insulin function and obesity cognition among different body mass index groups,and to analyze the influencing factors of abnormal glucose metabolism. Results The blood glucose levels of blood sugar at 0. 5 h,1 h,2 h and 3 h in obesity and overweight adolescents were higher than normal weight and underweight ones. The levels of insulin,HOMA-IR in obesity,overweight adolescents were higher than normal body weight,underweight ones,and the HBCI level was lower than that of normal body weight and underweight adolescents,with the differences above all statistically significant( P 0. 05). TC,insulin resistance index,HDL,waist-to-hip ratio,BMI were independent influencing factors for abnormal glucose metabolism in obese adolescents. Conclusion Adolescent obesity has a certain degree of impaired glucose tolerance,insulin dysfunction,so the clinical should be targeted at interventions on the risk factors for obesity and abnormal glucose metabolism,clinical intervention should be targeted for obesity and abnormal glucose metabolism in risk factors.
