Levels and their significance of PⅠCP,PⅢNP,HA and laminin in cerebrospinal fluid in posthaemorrhagic chronic hydrocephalus

Objective To study levels and their significance of procollagen Ⅰ C-propeptide(PⅠCP),procollagen Ⅲ N-propeptide(PⅢNP),hyaluronic acid(HA)and laminin(LN)in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with chronic hydrocephalus after cerebral hemorrhage.Methods The levels of PⅠCP,PⅢNP,HA and LN in the cerebrospinal fluid in 36 patients with posthemorrhagic chronic hydrocephalus and 29 patients without hydrocephalus(control group)were detected by radioimmunoassay.Results The levels of PⅠCP,PⅢNP,HA and LN in posthemorrhagic chronic hydrocephalus group were significantly higher than that of the control group(P0.01).Conclusion The increase of PⅠCP,PⅢNP,HA and LN levels in the cerebrospinal fluid may play an important role in the development of chronic hydrocephalus after cerebral hemorrhage.
