Effects of Several Signaling Substances on Stomatal Movement in Vicia faba

Effects of several signaling substances such as H2O2 , nitric oxide (NO) and polyamines on stomatalopening and closure in Vicia faba were investigated by studying epidermal strips. The results showed that bothH2O2 and SNP promoted stomatal closure and inhibited stomatal opening obviously, and that the effect ofputrescine (Put) was less than those of H2O2 and NO. The enhancing effects were not found in the treatment ofPut+NO and Put+H2O2.
