Optimization of Transformation System of Fusarium graminearum

Fusarium graminearum is one of the main pathogens of wheat head blight and maize stalk rot In this paper,we optimized the transformation method using protoplasts mediated by polyethylene glycol(PEG),there- fore set up an efficient transformation system for F.graminearum.We also discussed the key factors that affect the transformation efficiency.Using this method,we were able to transform F.grarainearura with fluorescence marker containing plasmids.Inoculating wheat coleoptiles with fluorescence-labeled F.graminearum strain allows live tracking of the growth and spread of F.graminearum within host plants.
