Effects of Controlled Release Fertilizer on Yield and Growth Characteristics of Peanut on Barren Dryland

Effects of controlled release fertilizer on yield and growth characteristics of Huayu No.25,a peanut variety,was studied in this paper.The results showed that the controlled release fertilizer as base fertilizer could improve reproductive development of peanut at the later growth and development period,increase the pod number per plant and 100-pod weight.However,it had little effect on accelerating vegetative growth and the increase of production was not as good as compound fertilizer.The effect of mixed application of the controlled release fertilizer and manure was better than mixed application of the compound fertilizer and manure,also better than only application of manure and compound fertilizer.Therefore,the application of the controlled release fertilizer on peanut at barren dryland should combine with the application of manure to promote the nutritional level in soils to insure the vegetative growth of peanuts.
