Deformation,Microstructures and Properties of Rolled Mo-30Cu Alloy

The plate of Mo-30Cu alloy prepared by powder metallurgy was rolled under different techniques parameters.The deformation property and microstructure evolution of the alloy were deserved by using optical microstructure and scanning electron microscope.The hardness of the materials with different deformation was tested.The results showed that under 900℃ with 50% deformation,the sample still had perfect surface profile,the Mo particles were squashed and elongated to ellipsoids and the sintered structure turned into deformation microstructure.The Mo phase and the Cu phase in the Mo-30Cu alloy with 98% total deformation were pressed into fibrous,uniformly distributed as layered stacks.The interfaces between the Mo-Mo layers,Mo-Cu layers,were clear and combined tightly.The deformation behavior of rolled Mo-30Cu alloy was divided into three stages: less than 50% deformation rate,Mo particles slipped in the Cu phase and the Cu phase deformed;from 50% to 90%,the Mo phase and the Cu phase were coordinately deformed;more than 90%,the Mo phase distorted.After the Mo-30Cu alloy was hot-rolled,when the cold reduction was between 0% to 25%,the Vickers hardness increased as linearity due to work-hardening;when the deformation quantity of cold rolling exceeded 25%,the molybdenum skeleton and Cu phase gradually deformed to fibrous tissue with the increase of the deformation,the work-hardening effect would be lower than the linear growth law for the growth trend of the dislocation density gradually weakened,besides the deformation heat effect occurred for the energy increase of the lattice distortion so as to generate reversion in the material,as a result,the hardness of the alloy increased slowly.
