U.S.Futures Three-Level of Supervision Making a Mature Market

Xiao Dou
The three-level supervision in the U.S. futures market plays a function that is mutually complementary, closing the loopholes and punishing the issues that violate the regulations and laws, thus maintaining the stability of the market. The mission of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is to protect market users and the public from fraud, manipulation, and abusive practices related to the sale of commodity and financial futures and options, and to foster open, competitive, and financially sound futures and option markets. National Futures Association (NFA) is the industry-wide, self-regulatory organization for the U.S. futures industry. It strives every day to develop rules, programs and services that safeguard market integrity, protect investors and help its Members meet their regulatory responsibilities. The Futures Exchange is the venue where futures exchanges are made. It is responsible for supervising the membership qualification and transactions of the members of the Exchange as well dealers and agents in the Exchange.
