Relationship bewteen Personality and Self-Consistency and Congruency

Objective:To investigate correlations and regressions between personality dimensions of QZPS and Self-Consistency and Congruency measured by Self-Consistencyand Congruency Scale(SCCS).Methods:QZPS and SCCS were applied on 991 subjects,and correlations and regression ratios were then calculated.Results:All personality factors correlated significantly with at least one of the three sub-scales of SCCS,i.e.Self-Experience inconsistency,Self-Flexibility,and Self-rigidness(r=-0.11～0.64),and Behavior Styles,Talents(r=0.11～0.54),and Not Seeking Fame and Wealth correlated positively with self-experience inconsistency,while other personality factors correlated negatively(r=-0.11～-0.58).Six to nine personality factors entered regression equation,with variance explained among 39% to 64%,and β value ranged from-0.08 to 0.32.Conclusion:Personality dimensions could predict individuals'self-consistency in some degree,Extroversion,Kindness and Human Relations contributed to self-consistency positively,while Behavior Styles,Talents,and Not Seeking Fame and Wealth negatively.
