The Relationship between Time Management Disposition and Self Consistency and Congruence in College Students

Objective:To explore the relationship between college students' self consistency-congruence and their time management disposition.Methods:334 college students were assessed with the Self Consistency and Congruence Scale(SCCS) and the Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale(ATMD).Correlation analysis and multiple stepwise regression analysis were applied.Results:The average scores of disharmony of self and experience,self-flexibility and self-stiffness were 51.9±8.6,24.6±6.3,and 25.0±4.1 respectively.College students' time management disposition was negatively correlated with disharmony of self and experience(r=-0.31~-0.39,except for the perceived time values) and self-stiffness(r=-0.11~-0.26),and positively correlated with.self-flexibility(r=0.28~0.41).Regression analysis showed that perceived time efficacy was an effective predictor of disharmony of self and experience and self-stiffness(R2=0.152,β=-0.390;R2=0.107,β=-0.259).The perceived time efficacy and the perceived time value were good predictors of self-flexibility(R2=0.229,β=0.288/0.286).Conclusion:There is a close relationship between college students' self consistency-congruence and their time management disposition.
