Influence of NaiKan Cognitive Therapy on Psychosomatic Symptoms in College Students

Objective:To explore the influence of reformed NaiKan cognitive therapy on psychosomatic symptoms and its applicability among college students.Methods:Forty-six undergraduate students were recruited to participate in the reformed NaiKan cognitive therapy during 7 days.All participants were estimated with the Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90) and the self-made questionnaire on the participation motive.Forty students completed the NaiKan cognitive therapy,and the drop-out rate was 13%.Results:The questionnaire results of participation motive showed that modern college students paid attention to themselves mental health.Before the therapy,the positive rate of SCL-90 was 42.5% among completed participants.After the therapy,SCL-90 total score and subsores were all decreased [SCL-90 total score:(160.8±44.9)vs.(123.2±31.0),P0.001].Conclusion:Reformed NaiKan cognitive therapy is feasible and can relieve different psychosomatic symptoms among college students.
