Toxicity and Pharmacologic Action of Yinzhihuang Oral Liquid on Experimental Liver Damage

The effect of Yinzhihuang (YH) Oral Liquid on acute liver damage induced by carbontetrachloride (CCI4) in mice was studied. It was shown that YH Oral Liquid (15 or 30ml/kg, bid x 14d, ig)could remarkably inhibit the elevation of serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) and bilirubin, andalso exert a protective effect on necrosis of liver cells.The LD50 of YH Oral Liquid by various administration in nice was 15.6ml/kg, and the maximum tolerancedose by oral administration was 450 times of the clinical daily dose.
