Microstructures and mechanical properties of titania films by plasma electrolyte oxidation under different applied voltages

The surface modification of titanium was processed by plasma electrolyte oxidation. The microstructure, crystal structure bonding strength and elastic modulus of the film were discussed. The results show that a porous titania is formed on Ti substrate and its bonding strength with the substrate is higher than 30 MPa. The elastic modulus increases with the increase of applied voltage due to the change of crystal structure of titania layer.
