Gao Zhanwu;Wu Hao;Li Gangtao;Chen Li;China Earthquake Disaster Prevention Center;
The location and late Quaternary activity of the Central-North Segment of the Piedmont fault zone in Taihang Mountain have been studied by shallow seismic survey and combined drill exploration. Our results show that the Baoding-Shijiazhuang fault and the Xushui fault was active in late Pleistocene, but the fault in south of Xushui was inactivity since late Pleistocene. The maximum magnitude of potential earthquake of the faults is 6.
