The Roles of Alloying Elements in Magnesium Alloys

Alloying is an important way to improve the microstructure and mechanical properties of magnesium alloys.The alloying principle of magnesium is reviewed.The strengthening effect and strengthening mechanism by adding alloying elements such as Ag、Al、Be、Ca、Li、Mn、Si、Zr、Zn and RE are introduced.The appropriate addition of alloying elements into the magnesium alloys can improve the microstructure and the mechanical properties.At present,it is a a hot research field of magnesium alloys.The existing problem and development trend are also analyzed.
