Flexible Job Shop Scheduling with Degenerate and Preventive Maintenance

This paper puts forward preventive maintenance strategy based on reliability intervals to manage the schedule of a flexible job shop. An integrated optimization model has been built up to minimize the make span under the equipment degeneration effect. In this model,the concept of reliability intervals is proposed; Optimization algorithm which combines genetic algorithm and neighborhood search algorithm is designed; The modified chromosome initialize method and three-tier gene encoding scheme based on equipment,process,and maintenance are adopted in the study. It proves that the preventive maintenance strategy developed in this work is better than the conventional maintenance strategy.
