Research and application of oil and gas pipeline crossing fault seismic exploration method

The geological conditions of oil and gas pipelines are becoming more and more complex,especially the exploration of shallow active faults,many methods should be developed to study and practice. The current active fault detection methods were used in shallow seismic reflection,but in the region with shallow bedrock,most cases can only identify the bedrock top surface of the reflection wave; rely on a single reflection changes to determine the presence of faults,this is difficulties. Combined with data acquired form high resolution seismic refraction method and the velocity profile obtained from seismic tomography,based on the theory of shallow faults cause lateral changes in velocity,it can reveal the possibility of fault on the other hand. Comprehensive application of these two methods for active fault seismic exploration,can improve the reliability of active fault detection.
