High Temperature Creep Behavior of AZ81-1.0Sm-0.6Nd Magnesium Alloy

High temperature creep behavior of AZ81-1.0Sm-0.6Nd magnesium alloy was studied. The experiment results show that AZ81-1.0Sm-0.6Nd alloy has a better creep resistance properties than that of matrix alloy(AZ81) at 50-70 MPa, 150-200 ℃. Especially, under the condition of 150 ℃ /50 MPa, the steady-state creep rate of AZ81-1.0Sm-0.6Nd is 8.82×10-7s-1, and it is significantly lower than that of AZ81 alloy which is only 1.95 ×10-6s-1. According to the analysis results of stress exponent n value and creep activation energy Qcvalue, with the temperature and stress of creep experiments increasing, the creep mechanism of the alloy was changed.
