The resonant column test study of soft clay in amoy

Shear modulus and damping ratio of the soft clay were studied by means of resonant column test.The results of experiments show that shear modulus decreases as shear strain increase,and shear modulus increases when consolidation pressure rises.Damping ratio grows as shear strain gains.When consolidation pressure increases,damping ratio reduces.Shear modulus and damping ratio change very little.Formulas of shear modulus and damping ratio were established.
