Analysis on the shear capacity of RC column strengthened with CFRP subjected to secondary load by FEM(Ⅰ)

Many columns should be reinforced by being winded with CFRP because of insufficient shear capacity.Before reinforced many columns couldn't be unloaded properly,and axial compression was exist.After reinforced,the stress of CFRP in these columns would lag to the stress of CFRP in columns which were reinforced before axial compression was exerted.Therefore,it is of practical significance to study on the shear capacity of RC column strengthened with CFRP subjected to secondary load.The nonlinear finite element analysis commercial code ANSYS was adopted to analyze the subject mentioned before.Subjected to monotonic loading,12 group columns were designed,aiming at six different axial compression ratios and three different shear-span ratios.Every group contains unreinforced column,reinforced column and reinforced column subjected to secondary load.Then,this paper also discuss the effect of axial compression ratios and shear-span ratios to the shear capacity increasing value of strengthened column,stain of CFRP and displacement ductility.At the same time,the results of finite element simulation are compared with the experimental results to prove it correctively.The formula of shear capacity of strengthened column subjected to secondary load is derive in this paper and the confined concrete strength formula subjected to secondary load is put forward.In the finality,the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
