Analyses of the elastic modulus values of masonry

The elastic modulus values of masonry were studied by using homogenization with microscopic mechanics.The formulate of the elastic modulus of brick masonry were derived from the formulae of the elastic modulus and poisson's ratio of brick and mortar.The calculated results according to the methods agreed better with our current national codes and the frequently-used formulas.This has paved the way for the study of the failure mechanism of masonry,and make the analysis of masonry structure more accurate more and convenient.
