Numerical simulation of distribution of wind pressure of spherical shell

Based on the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and Shear-Stress-Transport(SST) k-ω turbulence model,wind pressure on roof of spherical shell structure are carried out by numerical simulation under different cases.Firstly,shape coefficient on roof of spherical shell was investigated with numerical simulation technique.Compared with wind tunnel data in reference,the computed result is agreed well with the other result,and verifies the applicability of computing method and the selected parameters of turbulence model.Then shape coefficient on roof of spherical shell are analyzed by mean of numerical simulation under different the rise-span ratios.And the obtained results indicated that the peak suction values near the top increase with the increase of the rise-span ratio.The suction of the windward roof and the leeward roof tend to decrease and become positive pressure.The result can be adopted as reference of wind-resistant design of this type of roofs.
