Experimental study and analysis on specimens of steel secondary beam embedded in reinforced concrete girder of frame structure

The test of two specimens(four different kinds of detailing) of steel secondary beam embedded in reinforced concrete girder connection in frame structure under static load were conducted.The steel beam up-region was pulled out,and anchorage of joints failed.The embedded bearing of the 900mm frame girder is higher than the 600mm girder.The joint performance at the bearing with anchor bar is better slightly than that without.Analytical results of ABAQUS are shown as follows.With the increase of the slip between steel and concrete,the steel beam at the end detaches from concrete,and rotational angle of steel beam end enlarged.The wrap of the concrete slab near the support plays an unfavorable action on the performance of the structure.When the beam height reaches to some degree,the beam height plays a smaller action to the capacity of joints.The thicker concrete slab possesses a smaller the rotational angle and a higher the steel beam capacity.The steel beam with shear connectors develops a smaller rotational angle and displacement of mid-span,and a higher load capacity than the steel beam without shear connectors.
