The seismic performance evaluation and reinforcement for brick masonry structure dormitory building of a middle school in Changde City

After the Wenchuan earthquake,the seismic evaluation and strengthening work were carried out to improve the seismic performance of primary and secondary schools buildings nationalwide.In order to appraise the safety of a brick masonry structure dormitory building,initial data were investigated,on-site test was performed,structural calculation was analyzed,and seismic performance was illustrated with an example of secondary dormitory building in Changde.Finally a reinforcement plan was proposed on the basis of comprehensive evaluation.
