Study of settlement of filed raft foundation considering raft stiffness

To calculate settlement of piled raft foundation for tall building,a thick plate-Mindlin pile method is presented,in which Mindlin-Geddes method is adopted to calculate pile settlement meanwhile raft stiffness is taken into account for differential settlement of foundation.Study of case history indicates the presented method is feasible and practical.Difference between calculated and measured settlements is analyzed and some suggestions for method improvement are given.
