Seismic dynamic response analysis of three-dimensional crossing tunnel on soft foundation

The displacement,acceleration and stress response to seismic action of the three-dimensional crossing tunnel groups in soft foundation are analysed using ADINA,based on basic dynamic equations and with the application of finite element method and Newmark immediate integration.Analysis of its dynamic response rule reveals that the displacement,acceleration and stress response to seismic action of the three-dimensional crossing tunnel vary from different input directions of seismic wave.Also,the maximum displacement usually occurs at the crossing of upper tunnel,the maximum principle tensile stress often appears at the top of the exit to the lower tunnel,and the maximum principle compressive stress,which approximately evenly distributes along the axis,normally happens at the juncture of the roof of the upper tunnel and the sidewall.These results offer theoretical guidance to design and construction of three-dimensional crossing tunnel.
