Numerical analysis of flush end-plate connections in steel frames

The general-purpose finite element software,ANSYS,is used to establish a flush end-plate connections model for threedimensional nonlinear finite element analysis.The moment-rotation relationship and bolts stress of the finite element analysis are compared with the experimental results and verified the accuracy of the finite element model.Further,many factors such as end-plate thickness,top margin of the bolt,horizontal bolt spacing,bolt diameter and column stiffeners are consided on the influences of momentrotation relationship of the semi-rigid flush end-plate connection in analysis and calculation.It can provide some references for the design of flush end-plate connection.
