The impact of embedded length on bond performance between fly ash concrete and steel bars

The impact of embedded length on bond performance between steel bars and their surrounding concrete was experimented by means of strain gauges stuck on the steel bars.The average bond stress-slip curves,the steel strain-anchor location curves,and the bond stress-anchor position curves of the pullout specimens with various embedded length were obtained.Results indicated that the average bond strength was small as the embedded length increased.The steel strain and bond stress concentrated at the loaded end when embedded length was 98 mm.The distribution of steel strain and bond stress along the anchorage length became more uniform when embedded length was 42 mm.Meanwhile,the peak bond stress tended to drift toward the free end obviously when embedded length was 42 mm.
