Effects on hysteretic behavior of the wheel-hub load-bearing unit with different construction measures

In order to research seismic behavior of the wheel-hub joint in a large steel structural railway station in China,the finite element method is used for simulating the typical joint with reduced scale.In addition,the low-speed dynamic damping factor has been used to improve convergence effectively as high nonlinearity caused by bulking or splitting.On this basis,three kinds of reinforced measures,including flitch plate joint,cover plate joint and sleeve joint,are taken into account to compare with the original joint in hysteretic behavior.The analysis results indicate that each kind of reinforced measure improves the ultimate bearing capacity and ductility of the joint slightly.Eventually,according to the factors such as final failure modes and construction operation,it is concluded that the flitch plate method is worth popularizing and applying for its better behavior on technologic mechanics.
