Research of design for diaphragm in connections between box-shape columns and H-shape beams in steel frame subjected to horizontal load

In this paper,the design for diaphragm in connections between box-shape columns and H-shape beams subjected to horizontal load is analysis.With the study using finite element analysis,nominal stiffness as a evaluation of horizontal resistance behavior of the connections is given,it is accurate and reliable and did not influence by the error of calculation endpoint that caused by uncertainty convergence criteria in finite element analysis.The study of different kind of diaphragm in different height of beam showed,the effect of diaphragm was affect by the height of beam,as the height becomes larger,the effect of diaphragm becomes better.When the diaphragm was set both in vertical and horizontal way,the connection shows good behavior in any height of beam,so this kind of diaphragm is recommended.This study provide a reference for similar projects.
