Parameter analysis on seismic behavior of H-beams to square steel tubular column joints with force-transferring plates

As for H-beams to square steel tubular column joints with force-transferring plates,based on the static test and finite element analysis,considering different width of force-transferring plates,5 models were built with ANSYS software. Such behaviors as the ability of plastic rotation,bearing capacities,ductility and distribution of stresses of joints were analyzed. Results of the analysis showed that:when the column of a joint was compressed under a constant force of 0. 4 times its yielding strength and all 4 beam ends were loaded with synchronously cyclic forces,in order to get better behavior,the width of force-transferring plates should be 0. 75 ~ 1. 25 times that of beam flanges. This provides the basis for the aseismic design of the force-transferring plate's width of joints with force-transferring plates.
