Study on low velocity impact resistance of BFRP laminates

Based on the Hashin failure criterion,the low speed impact response tests of BFRP laminated plates are carried out. The low velocity impact simulation model of basalt fiber reinforced composite( BFRP) laminates is established by using ABAQUS. The low velocity impact stress and energy of BFRP laminates are analyzed. The results show that the finite element analysis is in good agreement with the experimental results,which verifies the validity and accuracy of the numerical model for the impact process of basalt fiber laminates.
