Experimental research on mechanical and flexural performance of self-compacting concrete under low temperature environment

An experimental study on mechanical and flexural performance of self-compacting concrete( SCC) with different curing age( 7 d,14 d,21 d,28 d) was carried out under different low temperature environment(-40℃,-30℃,-20℃,-10℃,0℃,20℃).The changes of mechanical and bending properties of SCC with temperature ware analyzed,and the mechanism of improving the mechanical properties of SCC at low temperature was discussed. The results show that in the range of-30 ~ 0℃,the mechanical strength of SCC has a significant increasing trend with decreasing temperature,while when the temperature is less than-30℃,the increase trend of all mechanical strength is slowed down. The flexural toughness index of SCC decreases with the decrease of temperature. The variation of each performance index varies with the age. The performance influence coefficient of SCC shows a more significant two order polynomial function with the change of age and temperature,and the correlation coefficient is higher than 0. 9. The conclusion of this paper can provide the basis for the design and construction of SCC in cold regions.
