Failure Mechanism Analysis and Preventive Measures of High Voltage Sleeve Head Seal of 500kV Main Transformer

The forced outage of the main transformer caused by high voltage sleeve head fault of 500 k V and above is an important hidden danger for safe operation of the transformer.In this paper,the failure mechanism of sleeve head seal is firstly discussed from both internal and external factors.Then the characteristics of high voltage sleeve head fault of the main transformer are analyzed through typical cases.Preventive measures and suggestions are finally proposed according to the internal and external causes of the fault,which are helpful to control the hidden danger of the transformer in maintenance.
