The English Teachers with New Curriculum and Its Implications to Teacher Education

This paper reports the findings from a survey done by a research team to a range of middle school English teachers,who are experiencing a difficult time in adjusting themselves with the on-going reform in basic education field.The finding indicates that teacher education faces big challenges:(1) a transition from training of knowledgeable English teachers to preparing researchers;(2) a well balanced curriculum of theoretical studies and practical teaching experience,and,(3) a cultivation of sustainable career development of future teachers with self-reflection as its core.
