A strain P m-6 of methamidophos-degrading bacterium was isolated from the soil of pesticides-containing in a pesticide factory. The strain was identified as Acinetobacter sp. This bacterium was stable when stored for 30 days at 4℃ with little change in capability. The optimal conditions for growth was also dertermined. The methamidophos degradation rates were 34-71%. In addition to degrade methamidophos, the bacterium could degrade other organophosphorus pesticides as well, such as Methylparathion, Triadimefen and so on.
