Hydrogeology of the basement section and prior ground injection of pulp into it are described for the shafts of Zhangjimine. Measuring data are based on to analyze the development law of the fissures of basement, the injection situation of pulp around inter-faces of fissured beds, and the effective expanding radius of pulp and waterproof results. It is indicated that prior ground injection of pulpinto the basement of shafts not only succeeds in the waterproof purpose to shorten the work period, decrease the cost and improve the quality, but also does good to the safe cutting of the outbursting coalseam by shafts.
