A CORRECTION AND THE REFLECTION ON IT

LIAO Zhuo - ting (Nanjing Ceological and Paleontological Institute, Chinese Academy of Science, Nanjing 210008, China)
Does the Banxi Group belong to the Proterozoic or Paleozoic or Triassic? This controversy has continued among geotectologists for more than ten years. Typically they based on their individual discovery of paleotological fossils. In this paper a correction has been made on a wrong indentification for fossils that have been quoted as an important evidence in the controversy. The author explained how it happened and called for a polyacademic consideration on the Banxi Group in terms of stratigraphic age and tectonic attribute, particularly emphasized on that paleotologists should participate in it.
