GEOLOGICAL FEATURES AND ORE-PROSPECTING DIRECTION OF THE XIANWANGTAN PB-ZN-AG ORE DEPOSIT, HUANGSHAN CITY

The Xianwangtan Pb-Zn-Ag ore deposit, Huangshan City lies in the middle part of the Huangshan concave rift folding cluster, the meeting place of the Yangzhanling anteklise and the Xiuning rift depression, on the northeastern end of the Jiangnan orogen(Jiangnan uplift) between the Yangtze landmass and South China landmass. The outcropped rocks in the area include Proterozoic Huansha Formation sandy slate, slate, Niuwu Formation phyllitic sandstone and slate, Sinian Xiuning Formation fine sandstone and siltstone. Faults are dominant ore-control structures with fractured zone F9 being the biggest faulting structure. Diabase vein is the material source for this deposit to form. The major ore body, Pb-Zn-As ore body I, is hosted in breccia of faulting zone F9, vein-like, occurring in conformity with fault F9. Ore minerals are mainly galena, sphalerite and natural silver. This deposit belongs to middle- and low-temperature hydrothermal filling replacement deposit in origin. Ore-prospecting direction is the depth of the deposit and surrounding area with similar geological conditions to the surveyed area.
