ANALYSIS OF BURIED ROCK MASSES AND DEEP PROSPECTING POTENTIAL IN THE SOUTHWESTERN SHATANJIAO AREA IN THE TONGLING ORE DEPOSIT CLUSTER

The study area is a weak magnetic anomaly zone, and identifying the occurrences of buried rock masses is an important precondition for analyzing potential of deep prospecting. This paper made parameter transformation through vertical first derivative ΔThz and horizontal derivative model ΔThs, namely the aeromagnetic ΔT reduction-to-the-pole tilt derivative M=atan(ΔThz/ΔThs) to highlight the weak magnetic anomaly caused by concealed rock masses. Based on geophysical, geochemical and ZK31, ZK32 drilling results of a on-going project, combined with previous regional geophysically-and geochemically-inferred results, the author made a comprehensive analysis of the anomaly of tilt derivative and basically found out the distribution law of concealed rock masses in the area. The Qiaotouyang rock mass has its central part lying in the northern study area, it is funnel shaped, has a limited downward extension. A l a rge scale concealed rock mass was delineated in the Gaoshantuan area in the southwest of the study area, and it is possibly homologous with the Fenghuangshan rock mass. The deep part of the Gaoshantuan area is considered favorable to searching copper,gold and polymetallic ores. This paper provides a reference for surveying buried rock masses in other weak magnetic abnormal areas in the deposit cluster.
