CONTEMPRANEOUS DEFORMATION STRUCTURES IN VERMICULAR LIMESTONE
Qian Shourong (Geological Department of Huainan Mining Institute)
In the vertnicular limestone of the Lower triassic in Lower Yangtze area , various contemporaneous deformation structures are well-devoloped. Their occrrence was related to the excess pore pressure in the vermicular limestone at the synsedimentary stage. Yhe above genetic mechanism suggests the vermicular limestone deposited at a high rate under the condition of high energy, and the bottom mold structures, hummocky cross-beddings and other sedi-mentary structures indieate that the sedimentation of this rock was concerned with storm. It is actually tempestite.
