Investigation on the Interaction between Cu~(2+) and Hemoglobin

The interaction between Cu2+ and hemoglobin was investigated by using UV-visible spectrum and electrochemical method.The experimental results implied the copper complex compounds can be formed owing to the replacement of ferrous ions containing in porphyrin ring in hemoglobin by copper cations.The solutions containing higher concentration of copper cations presented stronger interaction with the heme porphyrin ring.
