Effects of the Three Pyrethroid Insecticides on the Contents of Chlorophyll and Carotenoid in Pakchoi Seedling Leaves

[Objective] The aim was to explore the effects of three pyrethroid insecticides on the content of chlorophyll and carotenoid in the pakchoi seedlings.[Method] The pakchoi seedlings were planted in air-conditioned growth cabinets.When the seedlings had three fully expanded leaves,the third young leaf of each seedling was smeared with 10 μl different concentrations of cyfluthrin,lambda-cyhalothrin and deltamethrin,respectively.And then the chlorophyll and carotenoid contents were measured at the 24th hour.[Result] The contents of Chl a,Chl b,total chlorophyll,carotenoid and the ratios of Chl a/Chl b in the pakchoi seedling leaves treated with lambda-cyhalothrin and higher concentration of deltamethrin increased.The contents of Chl a,Chl b,the total chlorophyll,carotenoid in the pakchoi seedling leaves treated with cyfluthrin and lower concentration of deltamethrin decreased,while the ratios of Chl a/Chl b increased.[Conclusion] Cyfluthrin and lower concentration of deltamethrin inhibit the growth of pakchoi,while lambda-cyhalothrin and higher concentration of deltamethrin promote the growth.
