LI Ming-chao,XU Shan-wei(1.Center for Modern City Studies,East China Normal University,Shanghai 200241,China;2.College of Liberal Arts,Shanghai University,Shanghai 200444,China)
Urban literature was influenced by church literature and chivalric literature on the representation of female's love.Passionate love corresponded to sexual love perfectly and they continually make up female's love: passionate love was the sublimation and deviation of chivalric love, sexual love was the reappearance of love in common customs and reflected the sentimental taste of western European townsmen. The coexistence reflected urban literature's new claim of breaking through church and secular restriction, and pursuing independence and free happiness. Here, there was evident contradiction on the female's love: on the one hand, love is the power of advance;on the other hand, the female was the alluring force and evil origin of seducing male to crime.
