The Meaning of “Ne" in an Znterrogative Sentence

XIONG Zhong-ru (Dept. of liter., ANU,Wuhu 241000, China)
Belief and doubt are two meaning elememts in an interrogative sentence. The former is a psychological phenomenon, and the latter is a cognitive phenomenon. The former is reflected from the presupposition of the sentence, and the latter can be seen from the interrogative form. Belief is carried by “ne" or the context. That's to say, “ne" means “belief" in a question. When the question has an interrogative form, “ne" derives “to want to know eagerly". When the question hasn't an interrogative form, “ne" is a mark of a textual topic (transferred).
