Five Kinds of Judgement Sentences in “Luoyang Qielan Ji”

XIAO Hong (Dep.of Liter.,Nanjing University,Nanjing 210093,China)
We have discussed five old judgment sentences in “Luogang Qielan Ji”,and compared with the same sentences in “Mencius”and “Youxianku” in this treatise. Their forms are as follows:(1)Subject+“zhe”+predicate+“ye”,(2)Subject+adverb, etc.+predicate+“ye”,(3)Subject+“zhe”+predicate,(4)Subject+adverb, etc.+predicate,(5)Subject+“wei”+predicate. We have found: The first and the second old judgment sentences gradually declined, but the third and the forth slightly developed in some parts. These results indicate that the development of grammar phenomenon is very complex. Old grammar phenomenon did not absolutely decline; sometimes they developed in some parts. We must make a concrete analysis of concrete conditions.
