STUDY ON TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF ELASTIC MODULI FOR MGO AND OTHER MINERALS

In the present paper we studied the bulk modulus, shear modulus and second-order elastic constants as a function of temperature .The relationships for B_s(T) and G(T) are discussed with the assumptions that the two Anderson-Grüneisen parameter δ_S and δ_T,the thermoelastic parameter g involving the shear modulus are independent of temperature T when T is higher than the Debye temperature θ_D. We also generalizing the corresponding relations to second order elastic moduli. The results obtained from these relations for MgO and other minerals are compared with available experimental data. Good agreement between the results and experimental data demonstrates the validity of the present approach.
