Study on Degradation of Phenol Using Photocatalyst Coated on Ceramic-Activated-Carbon Substrates

TiO2/ceramic-activated-carbon photocatalyst was prepared by dip-coating method with the TiO2 sol,using ceramic-activated-carbon as support.The photocatalytic property of photocatalyst was studied on degradation of phenol wastewater with the ultraviolet lampas as experimental light resource.The influences of TiO2 sol coat time,initial pH value and initial concentration of phenol solution and character of ceramic-activated-carbon were investigated.It indicated the experimental result that TiO2/ceramic-activated-carbon photocatalyst fabricated by loading TiO2 sol twice possessed the character of the higher activity and stability.Degradation rate of phenol was about 97.31% at the original concentration of phenol solution 50 mg/L,the initial pH value of 2.5 and illumination time of 6 hours.
